rembg gave clean cutouts in a fraction of a second on CPU. The mug was clean, and the hands-and-cards image was good apart from small felt remnants between the cards. For free background removal it is hard to beat; expect a little cleanup on complex edges.
Fast, clean cutouts on both images, with minor edge remnants.

rembg[cpu] with the u2net session (176 MB model auto-downloaded). Timed on the second run per image. Results composited on magenta for inspection.
